The Hindu Wedding (Vivah sanskaara)
Wedding is a sacred Sanskaar or rite of passage fro each Hindu. While there is a mix of festivity, tradition, socializing and other cultural exchanges, the Wedding remains a religious ceremony for transitioning into a new phase of life. Anyone becoming married for the first time enters into a stage of Grihasta or householder status. THis means that a family is being established for social, moral, spiritual and emotional bonding.
THe wedding most regularly performed by residents in the Diaspora is called the Brahm Vivah or Tulsi Vivah. It is based in Sanatan Dharma and is very consistene with other Sanatan Dharmic ceremonies such as Pujaa, Yagya and even Funerals.
